Purpose

Radio Immuno Assay (RIA) and Immuno Assay (IRMA) "in vitro" is a highly sensitive methods of  the extremely small amounts measurements of hormones which are present in blood and gastric juice, biologically active non-hormonal substances, such as blood serium proteins, enzymes, tumor antiegens, etc.

RIG-12 "Progress-RIA" is intended for the execution of analyses of the content of biologically active substances simultaneously in 12 bioassays by the radioimmunological method with the use of a radioactive label on the base of radionuclide I-125. The radiometer includes a 12-channel radiometric detector section and a personal computer with a modern original program for the processing and storage of information "Progress-RIA".

The detector section of the setup consists of 12 independent detector units (DU) positioned in one package. Each DU includes an independent high-voltage power supply, a spectrometric amplifier, an amplitude-digital converter (ADC), and the light-emitting diode system of stabilization of the conversion. DUs are connected to a single feed bar. From all 12 DUs, the information on measurements in the digital form is supplied to a personal computer through one USB-port. Such a block design of the detector section of the radiometer gives a possibility, if necessary, to easily replace or to repair one of the DUs, whereas the remaining units are in work.

The software "Progress-RIA" allows one to work with any RIA or IRMA collections. In order to approximate by a standard curve, one can use the polynomials of various degrees or a spline in the ordinary, logarithmic, Logit, or 1/X coordinates.

For the first time, the systematic component introduced by the model of approximation by a standard curve can be determined on the calculation of the error. In the processing of results, several standard curves can be simultaneously used.

The possibility to keep the reference information (the amounts and concentrations of standards, the number of replicators, etc.) in the form of templates simplifies the work of an operator on the execution of one-type studies.

The interfaces of the program allow one to use the text editor MSWord for the printing and editing of reports. The results of measurements are kept in the format of the Access database, which allows one to transfer them into other programs.
The software "Progress-RIA" works under guidance of the operating systems Windows-9X, ME, NT, 2000, and XP jointly with the program package MS-OFFICE.
